Over 95,000 Applications Received for Hajj 2026 Under Government Scheme

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has so far received 95,100 applications for Hajj 2026 under the government scheme, with the application process continuing until August 16.

According to ministry spokesperson Umar Butt, applications are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis. He said 95,100 people have already applied under the government scheme, leaving around 23,000 slots still available.

Those wishing to apply can submit their applications either through designated banks or via the ministry’s online portal until the deadline.

Pakistan’s Hajj quota for the upcoming season is set at 179,210 pilgrims, with 70% allocated for the government scheme and 30% for the private scheme, in line with the national Hajj policy.

Last month, the federal cabinet formally approved the Hajj Policy 2026, which outlines key procedural, financial, and logistical measures for the pilgrimage season.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf had earlier announced in a press conference that Saudi Arabia had allocated a quota of 179,210 pilgrims for Pakistan — 119,210 under the government scheme and 60,000 for private operators — subject to final confirmation by Saudi authorities.

He added that the government scheme would offer both the traditional 38–42 day package and a shorter 20–25 day option. Estimated costs range from PKR 1.15 million to PKR 1.25 million, depending on agreements with service providers.
