DARWIN: Pakistan Shaheens claimed their first victory in the Top End T20 Series, defeating Bangladesh A by 79 runs in the opening match of the tournament in Australia.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 227 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Khawaja Nafay top-scored with 61 runs off the back of 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Yasir Khan made 62 runs, hitting 7 boundaries and 2 sixes. Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 56 runs, adding to the team’s dominant batting display.
In reply, Bangladesh A’s chase faltered, as they were bowled out for 148 in the 17th over. Faisal Akram and Saad Masood led the bowling attack for Pakistan Shaheens, picking up three wickets each.
Pakistan Shaheens will face Perth Scorchers Academy in their second match of the tournament on Saturday.
