On the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir extended heartfelt greetings to all Pakistanis, emphasizing that the nation’s trust in its armed forces is its greatest asset and the source of their strength.
In his message, General Munir stated that the Pakistan Army is fully prepared to confront any threat, and the country’s independence and sovereignty will never be compromised. He added that any attempt to undermine national integrity will be met with an immediate and decisive response.
Paying tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers, he described Pakistan as a strong and invincible fortress of the Islamic world, highlighting the country’s commitment to interfaith harmony and religious freedom. He also acknowledged the valuable contributions of minority communities to national development.
General Munir recalled the heavy human and material cost paid in the fight against terrorism and condemned attacks on Pakistani civilians, citing the Pahalgam incident while offering Pakistan’s cooperation for transparent international investigations.
He also criticized India for its repeated aggressions against Pakistan’s civilian population, calling the resilience of the armed forces a symbol of bravery and patriotic spirit. Emphasizing Pakistan’s role as a proponent of peace, development, and prosperity in the region, he reaffirmed the country’s support for the struggle of oppressed Kashmiris and stated that granting them the right to self-determination is the only fair and lasting solution.
General Munir further expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, urging the international community to take immediate measures to protect their rights.
