Pakistan Committed to Eradicating Polio and Securing Children’s Future: Prime Minister

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has vowed to eradicate polio from Pakistan and secure the future of the nation’s children.

He made the statement during a meeting with the president of the Rotary International Foundation and his delegation. The Prime Minister highlighted the vital role played by Rotary International in Pakistan’s polio eradication efforts.

“Rotary International has been a key partner in our fight against polio,” he said. “Their support strengthens our vaccination campaigns and helps protect children across the country.”

The Prime Minister praised the dedication of polio workers, describing their role as crucial in reaching remote and vulnerable communities. He acknowledged the challenges but stressed that polio eradication is achievable with commitment and teamwork.

“Polio campaigns face many obstacles,” Shahbaz Sharif said. “But eliminating this disease is not impossible. We are determined to succeed.”

He emphasized that government health departments, polio workers, and other relevant agencies are fully committed to this mission. The Prime Minister reiterated that protecting children from polio is a national priority.

Pakistan has faced repeated polio outbreaks over the years, mainly in hard-to-reach areas. Health authorities, in partnership with international organizations, have intensified vaccination drives to reach every child.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that consistent efforts and public cooperation are essential to end polio permanently. He urged communities to support vaccination campaigns and ensure that children receive timely doses.

He also acknowledged the international support Pakistan has received. “Global partners have been critical in providing resources, training, and guidance,” he said. “Together, we can make polio a thing of the past in Pakistan.”

The Prime Minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment. “We will eradicate polio from Pakistan and secure the future of our children. Every child deserves a healthy and polio-free life,” he said.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between national authorities and international organizations to achieve a polio-free Pakistan. Strong leadership, dedicated workers, and community involvement remain the cornerstones of this mission.
