Pakistan and Japan agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and multiple other sectors.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met Japanese State Minister Maya Ji Takuma. She expressed goodwill and welcomed Japan’s partnership.
The Japanese minister praised Punjab’s launch of over 120 projects and reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting Pakistan as a trusted friend.
Takuma expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and damage caused by recent floods in Pakistan. Maryam Nawaz said Punjab would benefit from Japan’s experience in disaster management. She called Japan a hub of economic, technological, and social development.
Maryam Nawaz said she aimed to apply Japan’s development model in Punjab. She thanked Japan for standing by Pakistan in difficult times, including its unforgettable assistance after destructive earthquakes.
The chief minister also admired Japan’s cultural traditions and moral values. She stressed that Pakistan and Japan are tested friends who value long-term cooperation.
