Quetta: The All Pakistan CM Gold Cup Trophy was officially unveiled in Quetta on Tuesday.
Provincial Sports Minister Mina Majid, Secretary Sports Dara Baloch, and DG Sports Yasir Bazai led the ceremony.
In a press conference, Mina Majid announced that the Gold Cup will take place in Quetta from September 1 to September 14. She said 26 teams from across Pakistan will participate, including 18 regional teams.
“Blending sports events is a priority in Balochistan,” Mina Majid said. She added that the province has 12 grounds ready for matches.
Secretary Sports Dara Baloch said, “Matches will be played at night due to daytime heat.” He also confirmed that flat lights will be installed at Akbar Bugti Stadium within four days.
Mina Majid highlighted development allocations for sports. She said Balochistan has been allotted PKR 200 billion for sports and infrastructure, but regretted that the budget remains insufficient for the province’s size and population.
