Tianjin: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, held a key meeting with President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Tianjin, China, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State summit.
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Turkey relations and expressed satisfaction over growing cooperation across multiple sectors. They praised high-level exchanges and joint efforts in political, economic, defense, and security fields.
President Erdogan expressed deep sorrow and sympathy over the loss of lives and financial damages caused by recent monsoon floods in Pakistan, assuring that the Turkish government and people stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan in these challenging times.
The leaders also discussed key regional and global issues, expressing serious concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Palestinian rights and jointly opposing Israeli aggression and policies of violence and genocide at international forums.
Both leaders highlighted the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkey and agreed to further strengthen cooperation for global peace, stability, and prosperity, including within the Muslim world.
