Quetta (News Desk): On August 31, 2025, Balochistan’s national highways witnessed a surge in road accidents. According to the Medical Emergency Response Center, a total of 44 accidents occurred in a single day, leaving 77 people injured.
The report highlighted that the highest number of accidents took place on the N-50 Zhob and N-25 Khuzdar highways. In Zhob, 11 accidents injured 22 people, while Khuzdar recorded 10 accidents with 15 injuries.
On the N-25 Mastung, four accidents left five people injured. Similarly, two accidents each were reported on N-25 Kalat, N-50 Ziarat, Zhob, and N-65 Sibi, injuring 12 people in total.
Moreover, one accident each occurred on N-25 Lasbela, Winder, Saranan, N-50 Sherani, and Surab, while single incidents were also reported on N-8 Kech, N-85 Panjgur, Washuk, Barkhan, and N-40 Nushki, causing 20 injuries.
Officials stated that over-speeding, poor road conditions, and traffic violations were the major causes behind the accidents. Citizens urged the government to improve road infrastructure and enforce traffic laws strictly to save precious lives.
