ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Planning has announced the successful completion of 5,000 houses for flood-affected families in Balochistan, as part of a broader reconstruction effort under the Balochistan Housing Reconstruction Program.
According to a spokesperson for the ministry, construction of an additional 27,000 homes is currently underway. The initiative is being led by the Planning Commission with the aim of providing safe and sustainable housing for communities affected by climate-induced disasters.
The spokesperson emphasized that the reconstruction program is not only rebuilding homes but also restoring essential infrastructure and basic services in flood-hit areas. The effort is being carried out with strict adherence to construction standards and climate resilience guidelines.
The housing reconstruction unit in Balochistan is working under the direct guidance of Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, ensuring that the project aligns with long-term goals of disaster resilience and sustainable development.
