The Balochistan government has decided to activate the long-pending Jhalawan Medical College and Hospital project, replacing the project director and handing over execution responsibilities to the Communication Department. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, attended by Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Leader of the Opposition Mir Younus Aziz Zehri, and senior officials.
Expressing regret over unnecessary delays in the project’s completion, CM Bugti directed relevant departments to prepare a revised PC-I and expedite work immediately. Officials briefed the meeting that two batches have already graduated from Jhalawan Medical College, while 400 students are currently enrolled.
The Chief Minister noted that delays have increased difficulties for students and stressed that “the future of the children will not be put at risk,” instructing that the project be completed as soon as possible.
Bugti added that timely completion of the Jhalawan Medical College and Hospital will significantly improve healthcare facilities in the region.
