Quetta – More than 30,000 undocumented Afghan nationals have been repatriated from Balochistan as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal residents, officials confirmed during a high-level meeting chaired by Quetta Division Commissioner Shahzeb Khan Kakar.
The meeting, held to review operations against undocumented Afghan migrants, was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Capt. (R) Mehrullah Badini, Assistant Commissioner Political Quetta Division Kaleem Ullah, and representatives from the police, FIA, NADRA, Special Branch, PTA, Home Department, and other relevant agencies. Deputy Commissioners of Qilla Abdullah and Pishin, along with the SP Pishin, participated online.
Briefing the participants, officials said that joint operations by the police, Frontier Corps (FC), and the local administration had led to the deportation of over 30,000 Afghan nationals so far. The pace of operations is being increased through enhanced coordination among all departments.
Commissioner Kakar directed authorities to compile complete data on all undocumented migrants, including those on the ACC (Afghan Citizen Card) list, to facilitate further action. He instructed daily operations, collection of records on illegal migrants’ bank accounts and mobile SIM cards, and close engagement with local community elders to ensure a peaceful process.
He further stressed that women and children should be treated with special care during operations, and that all institutions must jointly develop a strategy to ensure the repatriation of all illegal residents.
