The Balochistan government has sent a large consignment of flood relief goods to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The aid aims to support thousands of families hit by recent floods in both regions.
Government spokesperson Shahid Rind and PDMA Director General Jehanzeb Khan confirmed the relief effort. They said Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed the dispatch to ensure quick assistance for the victims.
Relief supplies will reach 1,500 families in GB and 1,000 families in KP. The trucks carry tents, blankets, bottled water, and other essential non-food items. Officials stressed that the aid directly matches the urgent needs of the families.
Shahid Rind said the initiative shows Balochistan’s solidarity with other provinces. He added that the government stands with the people of GB and KP in this difficult time. According to him, the decision reflects humanitarian commitment and inter-provincial unity.
Jehanzeb Khan explained that PDMA checked the relief goods carefully before dispatch. He noted that the items are of high quality and suitable for immediate use. “We selected every item according to the needs of flood-affected families,” he said.
Floods have damaged homes, roads, and farmland across northern Pakistan. Families in GB and KP remain at risk as heavy rains continue to disrupt daily life. By sending supplies, the Balochistan government hopes to ease suffering and strengthen cooperation between provinces.
The relief effort highlights a broader message: Pakistan’s provinces can work together in times of crisis. Officials said more consignments may follow if the situation worsens. For now, the first batch of aid is on its way, bringing much-needed support to thousands struggling to recover from the floods.
