Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Malik Adil Bazai has resigned from all standing committees of the National Assembly. He took the step on the directive of party chairman Imran Khan.
In his resignation letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Bazai confirmed that he was giving up his committee memberships in compliance with the party’s instructions. He stated that his decision reflected PTI’s political stance under Imran Khan’s leadership.
The PTI lawmaker held memberships in three committees. These included the Standing Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, the Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, and the Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication. He has now relinquished all three positions with immediate effect.
Bazai requested that his resignation be accepted without delay. He further asked the Speaker’s office to issue formal instructions to the National Assembly Secretariat to notify his withdrawal from committee roles.
With this move, Adil Bazai no longer serves as a member of any National Assembly standing committee. His decision is seen as part of PTI’s broader political strategy. The party has repeatedly directed its lawmakers to align with Imran Khan’s stance on parliamentary proceedings and committee participation.

The resignation highlights PTI’s push to maintain party discipline despite ongoing political challenges. It also underscores the influence of Imran Khan’s directives on the decisions of PTI lawmakers.
Observers believe the resignations from committees could impact legislative business, particularly in key areas such as social protection, overseas affairs, and information technology. The National Assembly Secretariat is expected to issue a notification of the resignation soon.
