In the opening match, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 39 runs. Chasing 183, Afghanistan’s batting line collapsed at 143 runs.
Fast bowler Haris Rauf shined with 4 wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Nawaz, and Sufyan Muqeem claimed 2 wickets each.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The team posted 182 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Salman Agha played a brilliant knock of 53 runs off 36 balls.
Mohammad Nawaz and Sahibzada Farhan scored 21 runs each, while Fakhar Zaman added 20 runs.
