Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti, has expressed concern over the misuse of social media in the province for negative purposes, emphasizing the crucial role of teachers in guiding the youth towards patriotism and nation-building.
Speaking at a ceremony at Tameer-e-Nau Public College, Bugti said that Balochistan’s youth are being pushed towards anti-state sentiments, while institutions like Tameer-e-Nau Public College reflect the values of Islam and Pakistani identity. He described teachers as individuals chosen by God to shape the character of the younger generation.
Bugti stated, “Those who remained loyal to the country were honored, while the disloyal faced disgrace. Social media is being used negatively in Balochistan, and instead of falling prey to propaganda, our youth must focus on knowledge and research.”
The Chief Minister warned that dreams of achieving freedom through violence are an illusion, adding that the provincial government will not allow Baloch youth to be misled into futile conflicts. He noted that students are being sent abroad on scholarships, while anti-state elements attempt to lure them into extremist activities, including suicide attacks.
He further highlighted that developmental imbalances cannot be used as a justification for hostility against the state. “Criticism of the government is acceptable, but betrayal of the state is not,” he said, citing Article 5 of the Constitution which makes unconditional loyalty to the state mandatory.
Bugti announced that the government has provided 12,000 jobs transparently and assured immediate funding for the Fazal Bari Shaheed Block. He also pledged full support for the upcoming Allama Iqbal International Conference, stressing that instilling love for Pakistan in the hearts of youth is the true success.
