LAHORE: The Pakistan cricket team squad 2025 has been announced for the upcoming tri-series in Sharjah and the Asia Cup in the UAE. Salman Ali Agha will lead the 17-member squad, while Fakhar Zaman returns to the team after a brief absence.
Chief selector Aqib Javed and head coach Mike Hesson revealed the squad during a press conference in Lahore. The tri-series will feature Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE from August 29 to September 7. The Asia Cup will follow in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 9 to 28.
The full Pakistan cricket team squad 2025 includes Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Salman Ali Agha (captain), Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Salman Mirza, Hasan Ali, Sufyan Muqeem, Abrar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, and Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Aqib Javed stated that the selection committee aimed to include all available players. “Fakhar Zaman is a key performer, and there should be no doubt about his inclusion,” he added.

Coach Mike Hesson praised the team’s T20 performance, noting that Pakistan won six of its last nine matches. Two defeats were by narrow margins, while one was a heavy loss. Hesson said the squad shows strong potential in T20 formats, but discussions about the ODI squad will happen later.
