ISLAMABAD: Veteran Pakistani entertainer Bushra Ansari addressed recent criticism regarding a light-hearted remark she made about actor Amitabh Bachchan’s socks and singer Lata Mangeshkar’s saree during a television show.
In a video message shared on social media, Ansari clarified that her comment was meant purely as a joke directed at a fan and was presented in a non-serious manner on the show.
She said, “I jokingly told a fan to bring Amitabh Bachchan’s socks and Lata ji’s saree, but it is surprising that it was interpreted negatively. Humor is part of my personality, and I regret that people misrepresented it.”
Ansari also criticized content creators who amplified the remark unnecessarily, saying, “Some cheap YouTubers turned a small joke into a national issue. Please don’t send me to jail over this.”
Despite some backlash, many of her fans have continued to support her, praising her talent, courage, and contribution to Pakistani entertainment.
