Mobile internet services have been restored in Quetta, Chaman, and Pishin after being suspended for 16 days. The shutdown had left residents, students, and businesses disconnected from essential online services.
The Balochistan High Court ordered officials on Wednesday to restore mobile internet within two hours. The court responded to petitions from citizens and rights groups, who said the suspension disrupted education, trade, journalism, and daily communication.
Authorities had suspended mobile data services more than two weeks ago, citing security concerns and political unrest. The ban triggered strong criticism from civil society, journalists, and students who demanded immediate restoration.
With the court’s order, mobile internet services are now resuming in Quetta, Chaman, and Pishin. The move brings relief to thousands of users who rely on mobile data for work, studies, and news access.
