The Balochistan High Court warned the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) of contempt proceedings if mobile internet is not fully restored by August 25.
A two-member bench, led by Chief Justice Rozi Khan Barrech and Justice Sardar Ahmad Halimi, heard the petitions against internet suspension. PTA Director Jamil Ahmed told the court that services were being restored in Quetta, Pishin, Dalbandin, Taftan, and Chaman.
Chief Justice Barrech remarked that his own phone still showed no internet. The PTA director said full system restoration would take time.
The court adjourned the hearing until August 25. The petitions were filed by Khair Muhammad, Chairman of the Consumer Society, who challenged the mobile internet shutdown.
