The Balochistan Board of Investment & Trade (BBoIT) has made significant progress in attracting investment and promoting economic activity across the province, Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar said.
Speaking about the board’s recent achievements, Bilal Khan Kakar said preparations for the Balochistan Investment & Trade Expo (BITE) 2026, increased engagement with domestic and international investors, and progress on major investment projects were among BBoIT’s key initiatives.
He said substantial progress had been made on a Rs5 billion shrimp farming project under a public-private partnership. Practical measures were also being taken to establish a shrimp hatchery in Gadani at an estimated cost of Rs500 million.
The vice chairman said BBoIT was pursuing several other investment initiatives, including an agreement with Harley Healthcare Services, UK, for the establishment of a private medical and nursing college.
He said progress had also been made to attract Chinese investment in the Bostan Special Economic Zone, while work was underway on a Rs50 million oil recycling unit.
Bilal Khan Kakar said 20 Balochistan-based projects had been approved for consideration by investors in the United Arab Emirates.
He said BBoIT had also strengthened business-to-business engagement with China and other countries and developed partnerships with business and investment institutions to promote the province’s economic potential.
According to the vice chairman, these efforts are aimed at placing Balochistan on the global investment map and attracting investment in key sectors, including fisheries, healthcare, industry, energy and special economic zones.
Bilal Khan Kakar said the proposed Business Facilitation Centre was another key priority of BBoIT. The centre would provide investors with a one-window facilitation system, helping make the investment process easier, more transparent and more efficient.
He said the centre would help reduce procedural hurdles and improve coordination between investors and relevant government departments.
The vice chairman said BBoIT remained committed to connecting Balochistan’s natural resources and local potential with global investment, technology and expertise.
He said these initiatives would help create new opportunities for employment, trade and industry and contribute to sustainable economic development in the province.
