Karachi: In a tragic incident in Federal B Area, a dumper truck hit a motorcycle, killing a brother and sister on the spot and injuring their father.
According to police, the father, son, and daughter were riding on the motorcycle when it was struck near Sagheer Center. The impact claimed the lives of the son and daughter instantly, while the father sustained injuries. Enraged locals set seven dumper trucks on fire in protest following the accident.
The driver of the dumper truck was reportedly beaten by the crowd before being taken into custody in an injured condition.
Liaquat Mehsud, a leader of the Dumpers Association, claimed that the accident was actually caused by a water tanker and confirmed that seven dumper trucks were set ablaze. He demanded a complete ban on dumper trucks and criticized the government’s handling of the issue.
Currently, the Sindh government has imposed a temporary restriction on the movement of dumper trucks from morning until 10 PM. Mehsud said that the damages are being assessed and the association will soon announce its next course of action.
