A police officer was injured on Monday in a grenade attack near a girls’ college in Sibi district, Balochistan, officials said.
According to police, unidentified assailants hurled a hand grenade at officers conducting snap checking in the area. The blast left Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Afzal wounded, while the attackers managed to flee the scene.
The injured officer was shifted to the Teaching Hospital Sibi for medical treatment. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the perpetrators.
