Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump held an important meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, expressing hope that a meeting between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin could be arranged soon. Trump said he wanted peace in the world, global trade opportunities, and prosperity for the people of Ukraine.
According to details, Zelensky met Trump along with several European leaders to discuss the future of the Russia-Ukraine war. President Trump warmly welcomed the delegations, stating that it was a “big day” for the White House. In a social media post, he noted that the U.S. had rarely hosted so many European leaders at one time.
Trump added that it was an honor for the United States to host the meeting and said the world would soon see the outcomes regarding a possible end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
On his part, President Zelensky ruled out any immediate ceasefire in ongoing peace negotiations. He stressed that Ukraine would not make territorial concessions over Donbas and emphasized that the country’s future depends heavily on support from the United States and Europe.
