Peaceful Protest is a Right, But Disruption Will Not Be Tolerated

The Balochistan Home Department has stated that while peaceful protest is every citizen’s democratic and constitutional right, no one will be allowed to forcibly block roads or highways.

The department warned that strict and immediate action will be taken against those attempting to obstruct the public’s freedom of movement or disrupt daily life.

The statement made it clear that no one will be permitted to take the law into their own hands, and those resorting to coercion or violence to cause hardship to citizens will not be spared. “Anyone challenging the writ of the state will face indiscriminate and stern action, and those obstructing public facilities will be committing a punishable offense under the law,” the press note said.

The Home Department further emphasized that any attempt to disrupt federal subjects will also invite strict legal action. Airports, railway stations, highways, and all federal and provincial projects are being provided foolproof security to ensure no untoward incident occurs. It was also stressed that hospitals, public transport, fuel stations, and markets must remain functional at all costs. Closure of educational institutions and healthcare centers will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Orders have been issued to ensure the presence of doctors and staff, keep ambulances on alert, and guarantee the availability of medicines. The department warned that those disturbing public peace will be considered acting against the interests of the state and will be dealt with an iron hand. Citizens were urged to remain peaceful and stay away from elements attempting to destabilize law and order.
