Balochistan Government Launches Inquiry into Controversial Youth Skills Program

Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has taken strict notice of alleged irregularities and received complaints regarding the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development and Overseas Employment Program, ordering an immediate and impartial inquiry into the matter.

Expressing strong displeasure over negative reports related to the program, the Chief Minister stated that no mismanagement or lack of transparency would be tolerated in welfare initiatives launched for the youth. According to a directive issued by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, serious concerns were raised over the implementation of the program, transparency, selection of beneficiaries, and its overall effectiveness. Consequently, the Government of Balochistan has referred the matter to the Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) for investigation.

The Chief Minister has strictly instructed the CMIT to conduct a thorough review of all aspects of the program and submit a detailed report within two weeks. The report must identify factual findings and include concrete recommendations to strengthen accountability within implementing departments and propose future reforms.

He further clarified that the inquiry report will be submitted directly for his personal review, on the basis of which further legal and administrative decisions will be taken. Reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to youth development, skill enhancement, and overseas employment opportunities, Mir Sarfraz Bugti stressed that ensuring transparent and fair use of public resources is essential.

He added that transparency remains the top priority in all government programs, and any form of irregularity or negligence will be dealt with strictly. The move aims to make the youth-focused program more effective, fair, and practically beneficial for the people of Balochistan.
