The Government of Balochistan has signed an agreement with the Land Information Management System (LIMS) for the digitalization of land records across the province.
A simple yet dignified signing ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Balochistan by Senior Member Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti, while the CEO of LIMS signed on behalf of the organization.According to the briefing, land records in 25 districts of Balochistan will be digitalized under the GIS system in the first phase of the project.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the digital land record system would help reduce land disputes and provide better services to the public. He termed the digitalization of land records as a historic and decisive milestone in the province’s history.
The Chief Minister emphasized that sustainable development is not possible without transparency in land records, adding that the digital system will strengthen governance.
He further stated that digital land records will minimize chances of corruption and facilitate land transfer and verification processes.Mir Sarfraz Bugti assured that the project would be implemented within the stipulated timeframe and in accordance with high standards.
He reaffirmed that the provincial government is fully committed to steering Balochistan towards development through reforms, transparency, and the use of modern technology.
