BHC Restrains Balochistan Assembly from Making Appointments on Vacant Posts

The Balochistan High Court has restrained the Balochistan Assembly from making appointments on 15 vacant posts in the Assembly Secretariat.

The case was heard by a bench comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Mulakhel and Justice Muhammad Najamuddin Mengal.During the hearing, the petitioner contended that appointments to vacant posts in Grade-16 and Grade-17 at the Balochistan Assembly Secretariat are unconstitutional.

It was argued that appointments to posts in Grade-16 and above fall under the jurisdiction of the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC), and therefore, the Assembly has no authority to make such appointments directly.

After hearing the arguments, the court issued a restraining order, barring the Balochistan Assembly from making appointments on the vacant posts. The court adjourned further hearing of the case until January 1.Advocate Bilal Haider represented the petitioner during the proceedings.
