The district administration in Kalat has announced the immediate enforcement of an indefinite lockdown across the district, citing security concerns.
According to an official notification, the lockdown came into effect at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with all bazaars, markets, business centers, shops, and commercial activities ordered to remain closed until further notice.
The administration said the decision was taken to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
In addition to the lockdown, a night curfew has been imposed in Kalat from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on August 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 25, and 26.
Officials clarified that a video message previously issued by the traffic police regarding movement restrictions should also be interpreted in the context of the curfew timings.
The district administration has urged residents to avoid leaving their homes unnecessarily during curfew hours on the specified dates and to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and local authorities.
Citizens have also been advised to take all necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families and to strictly comply with the restrictions.
The administration warned that legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the curfew orders. It added that individuals who disregard the restrictions will be held responsible for any consequences arising from their actions.
The district administration said the measures are temporary security arrangements aimed at maintaining peace and protecting public safety in Kalat.
