ISLAMABAD: Iran and Saudi Arabia have expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives caused by recent heavy rains and devastating floods in Pakistan.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian extended his condolences to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Pakistani people over the loss of precious lives and injuries caused by the floods. He also offered assistance for the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities and affirmed that Iran is ready to provide all forms of humanitarian and relief support. The Iranian President prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
Similarly, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed sympathy and condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan. The ministry stated that Saudi Arabia stands with Pakistan in this difficult time and expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased while wishing a quick recovery for the injured.
According to official reports, the recent heavy rains, floods, and landslides across Pakistan have resulted in 344 deaths and 148 injuries.
