Pakistan has received approval to export seafood to the United States.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced that Pakistan has been granted a four-year approval. He said the decision reflects international recognition of the quality of Pakistan’s seafood.
The minister added that Pakistani fisheries met US standards, ensuring continuity in seafood exports. He noted that the US approval will bring greater stability to Pakistan’s exports.
Last year, Pakistan exported 242,000 tons of fish, earning $489 million in foreign exchange. Projections suggest seafood exports could reach $600 million in the coming year.
