Quetta: In a media briefing at Civil Hospital Quetta, BNP Vice President Sajid Tarin confirmed that 13 party workers were killed and several others injured in the explosion near Shahwani Stadium on Sariab Road.
Tarin stated that the blast occurred in the parking area shortly after the public gathering concluded. Among the injured are former MPA Ahmed Nawaz and senior BNP leader Moosa Baloch, he added.
“We had anticipated the possibility of such an unfortunate incident,” Sajid Tarin told reporters, emphasizing that the party had contacted the district administration in advance regarding security arrangements for the gathering.
Authorities continue to investigate the explosion, while rescue teams and law enforcement officials remain at the site. The injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment.
