At least four people were shot dead and several others abducted by unidentified gunmen in Balochistan’s Kharan district, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner Kharan, Munir Ahmed, said the incident took place in the remote area of Lajay, some distance from Kharan town.
According to him, armed men opened fire, killing four local landowners on the spot, before abducting others.
The victims and abductees are reported to be local farmers. Security forces have launched a search operation to trace the assailants, the Deputy Commissioner added.
