A grand jirga was held in Sibi with the participation of Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Commander 12 Corps Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, IG FC Balochistan (North), IG Police Balochistan, Member of the National Assembly Mian Khan Bugti, provincial ministers, the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, and prominent tribal elders from the Sibi division.
The jirga aimed to develop a joint and effective strategy for addressing the challenges facing Balochistan, ensuring peace and stability, monitoring the progress of development projects, and promoting public welfare. During the session, tribal elders highlighted local issues and shared recommendations, which government and security officials pledged to resolve on a priority basis.
Governor Mandokhail emphasized that the province’s prosperity depends on collective efforts by all stakeholders. He urged the government, security forces, and tribal elders to work hand in hand to integrate Balochistan into the national development framework.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti acknowledged the importance of tribal traditions and the jirga system, stating that the government, with the support of the people, is committed to maintaining peace and advancing the province’s development agenda.
Commander 12 Corps Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan underlined that security forces remain dedicated not only to ensuring peace and stability but also to creating positive opportunities for the youth.
During the jirga, the expansion and structural improvement project of the Quetta-Dhadar (N-65) road was inaugurated. Officials noted that the project will not only improve traffic flow but also play a key role in boosting the region’s economic and social development.
At the conclusion of the jirga, participants agreed that sustainable prosperity in Balochistan requires close cooperation between the government, security institutions, and tribal elders. Tribal leaders reaffirmed their commitment to contributing toward conflict resolution, social harmony, and the promotion of brotherhood in the province.
