A major armed robbery took place in Kech district of Balochistan, where unidentified gunmen looted more than PKR 220 million from a security company’s two cash vans.According to Deputy Commissioner Kech, Major (R) Basheer Badach, the incident occurred on the M-8 Highway at Dasht Khadan Cross.
Armed men intercepted a security vans belonging to SOS, a private bank security company transporting cash from Turbat to Karachi.
The robbers held the staff at gunpoint before escaping with the cash. Officials confirmed that the stolen amount included PKR 145.5 million belonging to Meezan Bank’s Turbat branch and PKR 75 million belonging to Bank Alfalah.
District authorities have launched a search operation and set up checkpoints across the area to track down the suspects.
