The Balochistan High Court has approved the bail of Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, who was arrested in connection with the high-profile Degari double murder case involving the killing of a man and a woman. Justice Iqbal Kasi of the Balochistan High Court approved Satakzai’s bail against a surety bond of Rs. 500,000. Advocate Akram Shah represented the petitioner during the proceedings.
The case drew national attention earlier this year when disturbing videos of a man and woman being brutally murdered in Degari surfaced on social media. The footage sparked outrage across Balochistan, with civil society groups and human rights activists demanding swift justice.
Following the public outcry, police arrested multiple suspects, including Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, for their alleged involvement in the killings. Authorities stated that the suspects were taken into custody after evidence linked them to the case.
Satakzai’s legal team filed a bail application, arguing that there was insufficient evidence to keep him detained during the trial. After hearing arguments, the court accepted the bail plea under strict conditions.
The Degari murder case remains under investigation, and human rights organizations have urged the government to ensure transparency and prevent any political or tribal influence from obstructing justice.
