On Monday evening, unidentified armed men launched coordinated attacks on multiple government buildings in Kachhi district, resulting in the martyrdom of a police officer and the death of one assailant during an exchange of fire.According to police, dozens of heavily armed attackers stormed the Bhagh Nari area, targeting a government bank, the NADRA office, and both police and Levies stations.
The assailants used heavy weaponry and set fire to the NADRA office and Levies station, destroying official records inside.Following the incident, police and security forces rushed to the scene, where a fierce gun battle ensued. During the exchange, Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Latif Khosa was martyred, while a police constable sustained injuries. Security forces’ retaliatory fire killed one of the attackers.
Police officials said the exchange of gunfire continued for several minutes before the attackers managed to flee the area.
Local residents reported that around 30 to 40 assailants participated in the assault, arriving in Datsun vehicles and on motorcycles, all carrying sophisticated weapons.No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
Earlier the same day, a remote-controlled explosion targeted the vehicle of the Deputy Commissioner of Kech district; the official escaped unharmed.
