Quetta records 289 fire incidents in 2025, eight killed and 22 injured

Quetta: A total of 289 fire incidents were reported in Quetta during the year 2025, resulting in the deaths of eight people and injuries to 22 others, according to official statistics released by the Fire Brigade Department of the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta.

The data covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025, and highlights a concerning rise in fire-related emergencies across the provincial capital.

According to the report, out of the total incidents, 215 cases involved general fire outbreaks, while 47 incidents occurred in warehouses. Additionally, 27 fire incidents were reported at mini petrol pumps, posing serious risks to public safety.

The statistics further reveal that June recorded the highest number of fire incidents with 34 cases, followed by August with 32 incidents. Meanwhile, April and May each witnessed 27 fire incidents, indicating a consistent pattern of fire emergencies during warmer months.

Fire brigade officials emphasized the need for improved safety measures, strict enforcement of fire prevention regulations, and increased public awareness to reduce future incidents. The data underscores the importance of emergency preparedness and timely response to protect lives and property in Quetta.
