ANF seizes narcotics worth Rs 150 millions in operations across multiple cities

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its nationwide campaign against drug trafficking, conducting four major operations in different cities across Pakistan, resulting in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of a huge quantity of narcotics worth more than Rs 150 millions, according to an ANF spokesperson.

During the operations, ANF teams recovered a total of 1,532.11 kilograms of illicit drugs, highlighting the scale of ongoing drug smuggling activities and the force’s commitment to combating narcotics networks across the country.

In the first operation, ANF officials intercepted a vehicle at the Haji Shah Bus Terminal in Attock district, where 960 grams of hashish (charas) were recovered. The suspect involved was arrested on the spot and shifted for further investigation.

In another operation near the City Bypass in Sukkur, ANF personnel seized 150 grams of cocaine from a vehicle during a routine check. The accused was taken into custody, and legal proceedings were initiated.

The third operation was carried out near Killi Shadzai, Sarnan area of Pishin district, where ANF recovered a massive 1,500 kilograms of hashish (charas garda). The narcotics were seized during an intelligence-based operation aimed at disrupting large-scale drug transportation routes. No arrest was reported in this specific recovery, and investigations are ongoing to trace those responsible.

In the fourth operation, ANF teams recovered 31 kilograms of heroin concealed in bushes near Goth Sher Khan in Hub district. Officials believe the drugs were hidden for later transportation and distribution. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the smugglers linked to the consignment.

According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and comprehensive investigations have been launched to dismantle the drug trafficking networks involved.

The ANF reaffirmed its resolve to continue strict enforcement actions against drug smugglers and emphasized that such operations are part of a broader strategy to curb the production, transportation, and sale of illegal drugs across Pakistan. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities to help eliminate the drug menace from society.
