The district administration of Ziarat has imposed Section 144 across the district in view of the prevailing adverse weather conditions, following directives issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan. The move aims to protect human lives and prevent potential accidents during the ongoing spell of unstable weather.
According to an official notification, restrictions have been enforced on picnics, recreational activities, and visits to tourist spots throughout Ziarat district. Authorities have also banned crowds and public gatherings, as well as non-essential travel toward Ziarat during poor weather conditions.
The order further prohibits people from visiting dams, rivers, mountainous areas, peaks, and other sensitive locations, which pose serious risks during rain, snowfall, or slippery conditions. Officials warned that such areas could become extremely dangerous due to landslides, falling rocks, flash flooding, or reduced visibility caused by fog and rain.
The district administration stated that the decision was taken strictly in the interest of safeguarding valuable human lives, particularly as Ziarat is a popular tourist destination that attracts visitors during winter and adverse weather periods. Officials emphasized that unpredictable weather patterns significantly increase the likelihood of accidents in hilly and forested terrain.
Under the imposed restrictions, any violation of Section 144 will result in legal action in accordance with the law. The administration clarified that law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure strict implementation of the order across the district.
The notification added that the restrictions will remain in force until further notice, depending on improvements in weather conditions and updated assessments by relevant authorities.
The district administration has appealed to local residents and tourists to fully cooperate with official instructions and avoid unnecessary movement. Citizens have been urged to follow safety advisories, remain informed about weather updates, and refrain from risky activities that could endanger lives.
Authorities reiterated that compliance with the restrictions is essential to minimize emergencies and reduce pressure on rescue and medical services during extreme weather. The administration also assured that all decisions are being taken as precautionary measures and not to cause inconvenience to the public.
PDMA Balochistan continues to monitor the situation closely and has advised district administrations to remain on high alert until weather conditions stabilize.
