Class 8 examinations postponed in Balochistan amid heavy rains and cold wave

Quetta: The Balochistan Education Department has officially postponed the Class 8 examinations across the province due to severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and an ongoing cold wave.

According to officials of the Education Department, the decision was taken in view of the safety and convenience of students, as extreme cold and continuous rain have disrupted normal life in several districts of Balochistan. Authorities noted that many areas are facing difficult travel conditions, which could affect students’ ability to reach examination centers safely.

The department confirmed that the postponed Class 8 examinations will now begin from February 6. A revised examination schedule has been issued to ensure clarity and coordination at the district level.

In an official directive, district education officers have been instructed to inform students, parents, and schools about the new examination dates in a timely manner. The department emphasized that all necessary arrangements should be made to avoid confusion and ensure smooth conduct of the examinations once they resume.

Weather conditions in various parts of Balochistan have remained harsh over the past few days, with low temperatures and rainfall affecting daily routines, educational activities, and transportation. Education officials stated that the postponement aims to minimize risk to students and provide them with a fair and secure examination environment.

Further updates regarding examinations or academic schedules will be shared if weather conditions continue to impact normal operations, the department added.
