Quetta: Electricity supply from at least 24 feeders has been disrupted in different parts of Quetta due to ongoing rainfall, according to the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO).
In an official statement, QESCO said that persistent rain has affected power distribution in several areas of the provincial capital, leading to temporary suspension of electricity supply from multiple feeders. The utility explained that wet weather conditions increase safety risks during repair and maintenance work, particularly in high-voltage areas.
QESCO officials confirmed that technical and operational staff are already deployed in the field to monitor the situation. However, restoration activities will be carried out only after an improvement in weather conditions, keeping standard safety protocols in view. The company emphasized that the safety of staff and the public remains a top priority during adverse weather.
Despite the disruption, QESCO expressed confidence that electricity supply to the affected feeders will be restored as soon as conditions allow. Officials said repair teams are fully prepared and will begin restoration work immediately once rainfall subsides and weather conditions become safe.
The power utility further clarified that all other feeders in Quetta are functioning normally, and electricity supply to those areas remains uninterrupted. Consumers in unaffected localities have been advised to continue routine usage while observing general safety precautions during rain.
QESCO also issued an apology to consumers for the inconvenience caused by the power outage and appealed for patience and cooperation. The utility requested residents to avoid approaching electric poles, transformers, and low-hanging wires during rainfall to prevent accidents.
Recent rainfall in Quetta has affected daily life across the city, causing disruptions in electricity supply, traffic movement, and routine activities. Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines during wet weather conditions.
QESCO added that further updates regarding power restoration will be shared as the situation develops.
