Quetta: Senior Superintendent of Police (Serious Crime Investigation Wing) Dr. Muhammad Sami Malik announced significant breakthroughs in multiple high-profile criminal cases during a press conference in Quetta.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Sami Malik said that the Serious Crime Investigation Wing (SCIW) successfully solved several blind murder and robbery cases through dedicated teamwork and modern investigative techniques.
One of the most disturbing cases involved the brutal killing of an 80-year-old woman. He confirmed that the “blind murder” case has now been solved due to the relentless efforts of the investigation team.
The SSP further revealed that police also cracked a murder case in Khalifa Gali, located in the Sariab area, as well as another قتل case in Durrani Town on Eastern Bypass. Both cases had initially posed serious challenges to investigators.
In a major development, SCIW exposed a criminal gang that was impersonating police officers. Authorities recovered official police uniforms from the suspects, indicating an organized effort to deceive citizens and carry out crimes under the guise of law enforcement.
Dr. Sami Malik also disclosed that suspects involved in a massive robbery worth Rs 1.15 billion have been arrested. Shockingly, some police personnel were also found to be involved in the crime. Efforts are underway to recover the looted amount.
Highlighting the department’s performance, he said that SCIW resolved a rape case within 48 hours, demonstrating the unit’s commitment to swift justice. A dedicated legal team is also working to ensure convictions, achieving a success rate of 60 percent in securing punishments for accused individuals.
In addition, police dismantled a vehicle theft network operating between Karachi and Hyderabad, recovering 21 stolen vehicles. Another gang involved in car snatching was also busted, leading to the recovery of six more vehicles.
The SSP emphasized that the department remains committed to eliminating organized crime and ensuring public safety in Quetta and surrounding areas.
