Gwadar: At least three people were killed in a firing incident in Gwadar, Balochistan, on Wednesday, police officials confirmed. The incident occurred on Pileri Link Road within the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station, where unidentified armed assailants opened fire, killing three individuals at the scene.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Ghulam Qadir, son of Murad Bakhsh and a resident of TTC Colony Gwadar, Arshad, son of Ababagar and a resident of Chabahar, Iran, and Qambar, son of Badal from Kech district. Authorities said the victims were targeted by unknown gunmen, who managed to flee the scene following the attack.
Police officials stated that the bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. A search operation has been launched in the surrounding areas to trace and apprehend the suspects involved in the incident.
District Police Gwadar confirmed that an investigation is currently underway, with law enforcement agencies examining multiple angles to determine the motive behind the killings. Officials added that no arrests have been made so far.
Incidents of targeted killings and violence have been reported intermittently in parts of Balochistan, including Gwadar, raising concerns over security in the region. Authorities continue efforts to improve law and order and prevent such incidents.
