Quetta: The Balochistan Police have announced major progress in their province-wide special crackdown, confirming the arrest of 519 proclaimed offenders, wanted suspects and absconders over the past three weeks. According to the police spokesperson, law enforcement teams conducted targeted operations in multiple districts, leading to the recovery of a significant quantity of weapons. The seized arms include three Kalashnikov rifles, one rocket shell, seventy-six pistols and revolvers, seven shotguns, 461 cartridges and 41 magazines.
The spokesperson further stated that the police successfully recovered seven abducted individuals during the ongoing campaign. Alongside action against criminal networks, the provincial police also intensified their anti-narcotics operations. In three weeks, they arrested 84 drug peddlers and seized 3,614 kilograms of crystal ice, 76,609 kilograms of charas, 20 grams of opium and 269 bottles of liquor.
The crackdown also led to the recovery of three stolen vehicles, motorcycles and five mobile phones, while 17 vehicles and motorcycles were taken into custody under Section 550 for verification. The Balochistan Police confirmed that they are coordinating with law enforcement agencies in other provinces and exchanging data to obtain details of the criminal histories linked to the arrested suspects.
