The Counter Terrorism Department carried out an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Nasirabad division, killing five suspected militants during an exchange of fire in the Jhal Magsi district, officials said.
According to security officials, the operation was conducted in the Hingor area of Jhal Magsi after intelligence reports about the presence of armed militants linked to what authorities described as “Fitna al-Hindustan.”
Officials said CTD personnel launched a targeted raid on militant hideouts, leading to a heavy exchange of gunfire. As a result, five suspected militants were killed, while their hideouts were destroyed during the operation.
The CTD said a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosive materials was recovered from the site. Security forces remained on high alert following the operation, while a search operation in surrounding areas continued to trace possible accomplices.
Authorities described the operation as a major success for CTD Nasirabad in ongoing counterterrorism efforts across Balochistan. Security officials said intelligence-based operations would continue to eliminate militant networks and improve security in the region.
No casualties among security personnel were immediately reported.
