Train operations resume in Balochistan as Jaffar Express service restored

Train operations from Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan are set to resume from today after a three-day suspension, according to railway authorities.

Officials said the decision was made to restore rail services connecting the province with other parts of the country. As part of the resumption plan, the Jaffar Express will depart from Quetta for Peshawar at its scheduled time today, while the return service from Peshawar will also leave for Quetta as planned.

The restoration of train services comes after railway operations in Balochistan remained suspended for three days, affecting passengers travelling between the province and major cities across Pakistan. The suspension had caused inconvenience for hundreds of travelers who rely on rail transport for business, education, medical treatment, and family visits.

Railway authorities stated that all necessary arrangements have been finalized to ensure the smooth operation of train services. Officials are also monitoring the situation closely to maintain uninterrupted rail connectivity and facilitate passengers traveling on long-distance routes.

The Jaffar Express is one of the most important rail links connecting Balochistan with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other regions of the country. The train serves thousands of passengers every month and plays a vital role in providing affordable transportation between Quetta and major urban centers.

Passengers who had postponed their travel plans due to the suspension are expected to benefit from the restoration of services. Railway officials have advised travelers to confirm schedules and arrive at stations on time to avoid any inconvenience.

The resumption of train operations is being viewed as a positive development for transportation and connectivity in Balochistan. Improved rail services not only support passenger movement but also contribute to economic activity by facilitating the movement of people and goods between provinces.

With the Jaffar Express returning to its regular schedule, railway authorities hope to restore normal travel conditions and ensure reliable transportation services for passengers across the country.
