QUETTA: An anti-terrorism court in Quetta on Thursday handed over Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) chairperson Dr. Mahrang Baloch and six other leaders to police on a 15-day remand.
Police produced Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bebo Baloch, Gulzadi, Mama Ghafar Baloch, Sabghatullah Shah Jee, and Beberg Baloch before the Anti-Terrorism Court after their earlier remand expired.
ATC Judge Muhammad Ali Mubeen heard the case. Police requested an extension in custody. The court approved the request and granted another 15-day remand.
Strict security arrangements were in place outside the court during the hearing.
The BYC leaders were arrested earlier this month under terrorism charges. Their detention has drawn criticism from rights groups and activists.
