Dar attends high-level consultations with Muslim leaders in New York

New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar participated in high-level consultations hosted by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Ministers of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye.

According to the Foreign Office, the leaders exchanged views on key global issues and discussed the need for coordinated positions and a unified approach at the ongoing UNGA session.

Speaking on behalf of Pakistan, Dar highlighted the country’s close bonds of friendship and cooperation with Islamic nations. He recalled the deep affinity of the Pakistani people with their Muslim brethren in the Middle East and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for all constructive initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
