CM Bugti Orders Strict Accountability of Development Projects Across Balochistan

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has directed the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) to conduct a thorough review of all development projects across the province and ensure effective accountability of ongoing schemes.

Presiding over a meeting on the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) on Monday, the Chief Minister expressed strong displeasure over reports of substandard and incomplete projects presented by the CMIT. He stressed that “every single penny of public funds is a trust of the people, and substandard projects will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

The Chief Minister warned that strict action will be taken against officers and contractors found responsible for poor-quality or delayed schemes, adding that the accountability process will be made tougher and more transparent. He emphasized that the provincial government would not allow anyone to misuse public resources or show negligence in development works.

Bugti instructed CMIT to carry out regular field visits of all projects, beginning with his own constituency, Baiker. He reiterated that officers and contractors failing in their duties, particularly in projects meant for public welfare, will face strict disciplinary measures.

“CMIT must work without any pressure. Public funds are a sacred trust, and any betrayal of that trust will not be tolerated,” Bugti added.
