A daring daylight robbery took place in Mastung’s central market area on Quetta Road, where a group of armed men looted more than Rs 1.56 million from a private bank before fleeing the scene.
According to police officials, six to seven robbers arrived on motorcycles and entered the bank soon after it opened for business.
The suspects, brandishing automatic weapons, threatened the staff and customers, forcing the cashier to hand over all the cash available at the counter a total of Rs 1,560,080.
Eyewitnesses said the robbers remained inside the bank for several minutes before escaping toward the Mastung-Quetta highway, firing warning shots in the air to deter pursuit. Panic spread across the busy market as shopkeepers hurriedly closed their shops.
